36 Inches of Powder and one sick kid!!
Hi everyone!!! Well we had a glitch with our camera. Apparently viruses can go through the computer to the camera. Anyway our scan disks were infected with a worm and we haven't been able to get pictures off our camera. However Toby the wonderful man he is has fixed it now but I am still not posting pictures because all of this months pictures are on a CD at work. I have been working the past 6 nights and and got put on call for my 7th and got to stay home last night. Hooray! We have been extremely busy at the hospital which made it go by fast but still very long hours. Anyway I am done now for 7 days so no more complaints. Toby is on his way up to Anthony Lakes today even though freeways eastbound and westbound are closed and 0 visibility between Elgin and LG but I believe it is worth it for the 36 inches of powder that the ski resort is offering. I would have gone however Alexyss had a fever last night and woke up with a 100.8 temp this morning so I kept her home. Oh boy, was I tempted to send her to school anyway. I don't believe I have ever seen over 18 inches of snow up there since 97 when I started snowboarding. Oh I am so jealous if he can get there. Oh well, I have to pack for a girls weekend out with Lex today. We are headed out of town to McCall for the winter carnival. Snowboarding at brundage, ice sculptures, snowshoeing, maybe ice skating, swimming, good food, whatever we desire (just her and I). We leave tonight for LG and McCall in the morning and will come home Sunday night. They are having a big winter snow storm today too, with accumulatin of 12 inches, so it will be an adventure. Anyway hope everyone has had a wonderful January and enjoying the snow. We love it.

Friday January 4, 2008

Well, as many of you remember Dakota was diagnosed with Bone Cancer on Sept 10th and given 2-3 weeks to live. He made it 4 months with us but we had to put him to sleep this past Friday. It wasn't easy but it was definitely time. He was very spoiled the past 4 months of his life with gourmet dinners, bones galore, lots of attention, and many walks. We miss him very much as he was a huge part of our family. There weren't many things that we did without him if we could help it. He was an amazing dog with a wonderful disposition and we grew very attached to him. I remember when we first got him most peoples reaction was negative toward his breed but he turned out to more well mannered then most labs I know. Anyway I can't say enough about him we loved him. The kids were told the night before we took him in that he would not be coming home but the next day when Nojah got home he had a hard time with it. I don't think he really understood and Alexyss thinks he is still at the vet no matter how many times we tell her. Anyway we are doing ok now and will now focus our attention to sculpting our sweet little myah into as wonderful of a dog/companion as Dakota was. She is 21 weeks old and 50 lbs now.

Christmas Update!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!! I know a little late :0). I have been working frequently since the 23rd of December and finally get a week off so I thought I'd update. We stayed home Christmas day which was a change from spending Christmas with my mom and dad. We had a pretty relaxed day opening gifts and playing with the kids. We had steak and baked potatoes with salad for dinner. I know a little odd but good. I had to work Christmas night so really I just wanted to relax with Tob and the kids instead of slaving over turkey, stuffing, etc, etc, etc for the day. The majority of the afternoon the kids spent making Christmas/get well cards for the patients at the hospital. We had 7 patients on the floor that night and before work the kids and I and Myah took the cards up and delivered them. The kids enjoyed themselves and it made the patients day. They were pretty cute.
The kids were sick pretty much their whole 9 days off with fever, cough, and nasal congestion. They started back to school yesterday and were pretty bummed they couldn't run wild with the neighbor kids during the break, but played very well together instead. Anyway hope everyone had a good Christmas! I can't believe that it is already 2008.
