Memorial Day Weekend

This past weekend we went camping with my parents, brother, Zoe, and Makenna. We got up there on Saturday morning due to a late start and stayed until late Monday afternoon. The kids had a blast playing in the rain and mud. The weather wasn't too bad although during one of my bike rides I was about 20 minutes out on an hour long loop when it started pouring down rain. I was covered in mud from head to toe. My hair was pretty gross when I got home. Camping is always great with my parents of course because they entertain my children, including the dog, and feed us. I can't ask for anything more than that. THANKS mom and dad. Other than happy, muddy, wet, tired children not much else went on. The kids played baseball, hunted for mushrooms, road bikes (and walked them up big hills), hiked, roasted marshmallows in the rain (as seen in pic #4) and played little kid games with their walkie talkies. I am excited to have some dry summer camping here sometime soon. It's obviously not going to happen today as I would drown if I walked out my door.
The last picture is of Myah after I loaded her up in the back of the Explorer, loaded the bikes, then went to load up the kids and the little stinker and her muddy paws had climbed over the seat into Alexyss' booster. Ahhh, puppy's are great! Hope everyone else had a good memorial day weekend.

Mighty Peacocks

Well, this last week Alexyss finished up her 1st t-ball season. I was the assistant coach and yes I too got the pleasure of being a purple peacock. They had a great season and were hitting off of pitches by the end of the season instead of the tee. I meant to post pictures of her at the beginning of the season, but of course it never happened due to the fact that when you are coaching you don't have time to snap photo's. Luckily Toby took a bunch as well as our friend Annette. Tob has been gone for the past 2 weeks to New Mexico so life in our household has been a little chaotic. He should be home tomorrow or the next day before I start another week of work. I think he leaves so that I remember how much I appreciate him and everything he does for us. Oh yes one more comment regarding tee-ball and our little cheerleader. She had this fabulous verse that she sang at every game and now every day. It goes something like this.....

"There was a little froggy who sat upon a log he rooted for the other team who didn't have sense at all he fell into the water and bumped his little head when he came up this is what he said... Go Go,Go you mighty peacocks Fight, fight, fight you mighty peacocks Win, Win, Win you mighty peacocks Party tonight all right all right."

She Can Read!

So the other day Toby and Alexyss called me into the bedroom and Tob said "ok go ahead" and she started reading to me, sounding out words and all. She started with Jack and Jill and I could tell it wasn't memorized because of some of her errors, but I must say I was quite impressed for Kindergarten. We are so lucky to have two kids who love to read and do it well. We read as a family "most" nights, then they take books to bed and read themselves to sleep. They are such great kids! This is a picture of Alexyss showing off her skills when my family came for mothers day.

Feliz Cumplea–os Nojah y Toby

So I am a little late on the birthday wishes! Nojah's birthday was Saturday May 3rd and Toby's yesterday on the 8th. Little man turned eight and the big one 34. Unfortunately I had to work this week so trying to fit everything in was a little hectic but I think they both had good birthdays. Last Thursday I woke up and realized it was the last day of school before Nojah's birthday so I threw the above cookies together and dropped them off. Then Saturday night Nojah had a sleepover with 2 other boys. Luckily I was at work and Dad was home, hehehe!! Sunday morning I came home cleaned a little house and laid down for about an hour before everyone started showing up for the party so up I went and we had a great BBQ and visited with family and friends!

This is Toby's happy Birthday picture because I didn't get one of him yesterday! He had to work and the kids were at school so that gave me about 3 hours of sleep after I got home for work then I got up baked a cake and worked on making dinner, picking up kids and making cards! When Toby got home from work we hung out ate BBQ steak, twice baked potatoes, salad and watched Rocky. Great relaxing evening!

The boys playing flag football on party day!

Opening gifts! He received a lot of wonderful things! Thanks so much to everyone for coming and making his day so special! It meant a lot to him to have everyone drive up here.

Madison, one of Nojah's guest's hanging in the apple tree! This was the fave hangout for the girls!

Shooting hoops!

Yeah, so I asked him to stand there so I could get a quick b-day picture! This is what I got! I guess he picked up on quite a bit of the Buddhist religion while traveling around Thailand. Funny little man. Anyway they both had great birthdays and I get the week off to rest! wahhoooo!!
