Where to next?

As soon as we get home from one trip the planning and saving starts for the next. Of course until we book tickets we aren't ever 100% sure where we are going to end up, however right now we have a pretty good idea. Here are a few facts about our next possible destination. Facts:

This country is slightly smaller then Montana.

Religion breakdown: Protestant 34%, Roman Catholic 34%, Muslim 3.7%, unaffiliated or other 28.3%

Climate: temperate and marine; cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers; occasional warm mountain wind

History: 1857:The Grimm Brothers write Rapunzel, Cinderella, Rumpelstiltskin and many other well-known fairy tales.

Soccer Season re-cap

Well, soccer season went a little like this......

THE DEFEATED (almost)

Meet crazy legs Chamberlain (nickname from coach Andy). She had a great year playing even though their team lost almost every game. They made significant improvements throughout the season and won their last game at the jamboree! Wahoo! One of her favorite more memorable moves was what we called the mule kick.....and what she called "cool".

Then there was the.....

UNDEFEATED

Nojah shined this year in soccer and most importantly had so much fun. He had the luxury of playing on 2 teams, which gave him more playing time and experience. The 8-10 year olds named the pink warheads and the 11-13 year old age group (who didn't ever come up with a name.) All the kids played well together, showed great teamwork and respect toward one another. The older kids especially impressed me with their kindness and compassion. It was a really fun year.

His size really did show when he was playing with the older kids but he didn't hold back and played really well with them. I attribute a lot of his success to his coach Amy! She was SO good with the kids and Nojah loved playing for her.

Thanks to all the coaches and volunteers who made the year a success! What's next? Basketball I think??

My Angel

It's been another good week. The weather was perfect in the 40's and 50's for runs, bike rides and hikes. Tob FINALLY had a day off and we spent it hiking in the rain, sleet, mud, and snow. Once we hit 1 1/2 ft of snow with out our snowshoes we opted to turn around go home, lounge on the couch and drink a warm cup of coffee. It was a good choice, but I was able to create the first snow angel of the season.

On another note, I have been pleased to have escaped most of the illness that has been going around the past 8 weeks since school started, until now. Lex came home yesterday afternoon with a sore throat, cough, and fever. Ah, well, It was bound to happen sometime. Anyway, better get back to disinfecting the house in hopes of saving the rest of us.

Private Blog

Well, I have come to the conclusion that we should change our blog to private. I know it's a pain for some of you to log in but with as many pictures as I post of my kids and about our life I think it's best to know who's reading. Anyway, if you are interested in reading our blog or just peeking in from time to time I will need your email address. All are welcome so don't be shy :) Hope everyone is having a great fall. We will be finishing up soccer season here next weekend and then I am not really sure what's next on the agenda.
