A letter from the toothfairy

Last week out of the blue Alexyss decided to write a thank you note to the tooth fairy for the money she has given her the past 2 years. So I helped her with spelling and she drew a little picture and sealed it in an envelope. Keep in mind she hasn't lost any teeth for probably 8 months, so I am not sure what brought on the idea. Anyway, after she finished her letter we were getting ready to walk to the post office and she thought it would be a great idea to leave it on the couch so that the tooth fairy could pick it up while we were gone. I told her she is a pretty busy lady and may not have time to drop by the house today so she should address it to the tooth fairy and mail it while we were at the post office. So on the envelope she wrote: ALEXYSS
TOOTHFAIRY
and we shoved it into the blue box outside when we got there. Well, yesterday we went to pick up the mail, in addition to a few adds was this bulging envelope that read: ALEXYSS
She opened it and this is what she found....

It was great while it lasted

Well, this past weekend my wonderful parents took the kids for 2 nights while Tob and I headed to the great outdoors. To start our trip off we stopped by the hair salon before leaving town to get Nojah's hair cut and dealt with the BIGGEST tantrum, screaming fit I have ever seen out of a young boy. He is in a long hair defiant stage, however the hair is starting to make me CRINGE and that is all the reason to cut it, right? Needless to say after the fit in the salon, he still has long hair and is grounded for 3 weeks for the extremely bad behavior and the embarrassment he caused us in public. I don't think I have ever been so mad at him before. As my mom said when we ditched him at her house, "well, honey he does have a little bit of you in him". Great thanks for pointing that one out. Anyway It was good to get away and cool down after that episode. The first night we camped near some bike trails up in the Elkhorns and rode the trails the next day. After biking all day we backpacked into VanPatten lake and stayed the night. While we were there we watched a grazing mountain goat, as well as a bald eagle's unsuccessful dive for dinner. We were the only ones up there so it was quite peaceful. The next morning we slowly packed up camp and headed to dutch flats to do some more mountain biking before heading home. It was so wonderful to sleep in till 8:30, read a book, and have an actual conversation with Tob without interruption. And now we are back home...................

This week Nojah has been at summer camp so I busted out the canvas and paints for Alexyss and waa laa she created art. This is an acrylic painting of a beautiful unicorn roaming through the grass and flowers on a beautiful sunny day to her watering trough. (I believe that the yellow random spots are fireworks.)

My week off

Ok so it has been awhile since I posted. Here are a few pictures to catch up. I had 4th of July off from work which was really nice. We started off in the morning with the local parade which was a lot of fun. I don't think I have ever seen that many people in our tiny little town before. It was suppose to be Tob's day off however as you can see they needed someone to drive around smoky! He, He, He.

Here are the kids in great anticipation of Dad or smoky, I am not for certain! Notice Lex with her easter basket.... oh and she carried her own chair from home even though we walked to the parade. She was pretty sure the curb wasn't good enough and then the chair wasn't even used. Oh well, she carried it and didn't complain :0) After the Parade we went to a BBQ for the evening. At about 7:30 there was a HUGE lightning and thunder storm with cracks and booms louder then the fireworks at the lake. The storm was an amazing show in itself. At about 8:30 or so we headed up to the lake. I think we were up there for about an hour and a half before the fireworks started at 10pm but they were worth it. They did a great job this year.

The next day we went and watched one of Jake's All Star games. They did a great job! It was nice to be able to watch the game. I miss being able to see the boy's games.

Then on Monday the 6th we just spent the day doing fun stuff, kids choice. Hiking, biking, eating ice cream, reading books and just spending mom/kid time. It was great. They have now designated every 6th of each month FUN DAY! We'll see if they remember next month. The next day we went up to the river and had a picnic with the neighbors. The kids played around, we visited, and the dogs roamed aimlessly. Above is a picture of Lex with her skirt on up in the woods. Doesn't appear to bother her at all.

Here is the mischievous 4 some after lunch the day of the picnic! I turned 29 on Tuesday the 8th and got to go up to Anthony Lakes and ride do some mountain biking with some friends. It was great. Tob had to work so when I go home the kids and I made dinner and made myself a cake, which, I must say we did a splendid job on. Then on Thursday I started my week back to work. The kids are out on the slip and slide right now and I am a little jealous, but, the box says I AM TOO BIG. I really want to try it, but it provides easy entertainment and I shouldn't ruin that. Anyway, just a little boring catch-up post.
