So the other day Toby and Alexyss called me into the bedroom and Tob said "ok go ahead" and she started reading to me, sounding out words and all. She started with Jack and Jill and I could tell it wasn't memorized because of some of her errors, but I must say I was quite impressed for Kindergarten. We are so lucky to have two kids who love to read and do it well. We read as a family "most" nights, then they take books to bed and read themselves to sleep. They are such great kids! This is a picture of Alexyss showing off her skills when my family came for mothers day.

Yay Alexyss!!! I am so glad they like to read too. Do they get the book order forms from school so that they can order books?
Tatyana is a good reader too. I was quite amazed when she started reading things around the office to me.
We do order books occasionally from the scholastic book clubs. We love the great prices. It's amazing the difference in where Alexyss is with all day kindergarten as opposed to Nojah who had 2 1/2 hours a day.
Way to go Lex!! Danny surprised me the other day too. Isaac was reading a book to him and got distracted and so Danny started sounding out a word. I went over to where they were to see if he was just saying a word that fit and he was really doing it. It wasn't an easy one either...took me by surprise. High five Lexie!
That's so great! Brinley loves to read. It's the first thing she does when she gets home off the bus-reads me her web book. I love it!
