Moab bliss

Never mind the fact that I had just spent a week in New York. 7 days later I was ready for another vacation, this one with my dear husband who turned a holy whopping 36 years old while we were gone. We left on Thursday and returned home Monday night 2 hours prior to the boys baseball game. Little bit of shock going from riding mountain bikes in 80 degree weather to coaching baseball at a mere 40 degree's. Despite the quick trip, we enjoyed each others company, talking, riding bikes, hiking, eating, laughing, and watching the sunset on the warm slick rock, fighting off the pesky mosquito's.

During the 1st 10 minutes of our first ride on the infamous "slick rock" Tob proceeded to fly over his handlebars and then watched as his bike flew over him. The above photo would not be of the actual event, but a dramatic reenactment the next day after both his ego and his body were healed.

After a more challenging ride that morning, we opted to take baby steps. The above picture is of Tob proudly posing after he conquered it! For the record this was still a technical rocky singletrack trail, however it was fun and gave us the giggles, which was what this trip was about.

The first day we rode out to a trail then hiked out to the Klondike bluffs looking over arches national park. A very nice European couple took our photo :-)

While there we stayed at up the creek campground with a few other guest and a few million caterpillars. Lex begged us to bring some home, so they came with us in a plastic bottle and were cocoons before we arrived. While we were gone my parents took exceptional care of the kids and I must say the kids enjoyed themselves. We can't thank them enough for taking the time out of there busy lives to take the kids every now and then! Well speaking of kids they are gone, and I just got home from work so I think I will take this opportunity to get a full day's sleep! Nighty night!

Grandma had as much fun (or more) than the kids had! It was a real treat for me. I am glad you had fun. I am ready for the warm weather, though.

I am such a wuss. The thought of what Toby went through is enough to make me think twice about biking. ;) I am so glad he's ok. I loved the re-enactment photo.
