Montana Adventures

Lets start with the face shot.....

I have been looking forward to a girls trip to Bozeman for a quite a few months now to see one of my best friends Sandy.  The last time we saw each other was last spring and I have really missed her.

Barley was my travel partner and he was great.  Besides whining to get out of the car when I did he didn't make a peep.  He just snuggled in the passenger seat beside me and was sweet as could be.  I rewarded us halfway though the long drive with an hour long snowshoe break along the Lochsa river.  It was nice to be out of the car as the whole trip took us about 13 hours.

The first day I was there Karl, Sandy, and I went to one of the local ski resorts, Bridger Bowl, which consists of about 72 runs and 7 or 8 lifts.  There was a whole bunch of fresh soft powder and was the PeRfEcT day to be out skiing and snowboarding.  After snowboarding I took Barley out for a run and then watched Sandy and Karls hockey game a little later.  They won their game, probably because of the awesome pass from Karl to Sandy for the 3rd point to tie the game, which was the only point I missed the entire game because I got tired of standing and went to sit down.  Oops.  Still a good game :-)

The next day was Sandy's 32nd birthday and her husband Karl had to leave for New Orleans so it was just us girls for the day.  We took the boys (aka, the dogs x4) to the dog park, did some shopping, and ate Sushi for dinner, which I was skeptical of, but ended up liking, rating an 8.5/10, when I expected it to be a -10/10 (if that's possible).  After sushi we drove out to Norris Hot Springs for a soak and besides the drunk creepy guys that sat beside us it was pretty relaxing.  We didn't see a sign that said "Norris Hot Springs"  so this was our attempt at documenting that we were actually there.

My last day in Montana we spent cross country skiing with the dogs.  I truly love Bozeman.  There are several mountain ranges with trail access everywhere and no shortage of fun to be had.

Attaching my camera to my ski poles, setting the timer for 10sec, and running on long sticks without falling to get a picture is no easy task, but I managed (kind of).   Barley apparently did not get the memo that the photo was being taken......

After the photo snapped I realized I was stuck so Sandy opted to "run" over and set up the timer for the next photo.  While she was doing so, she took a fantastic set of pictures of me attempting to get out of my hole.  Thanks Sandy!

You can just call me Grace.

After I was exhausted from getting "unstuck" and Sandy was done laughing she managed to get a great shot of us on her first try.  So typical.  She's good at everything!!  :-)

Knowing we had a snowy long drive home, the mutt and I were up and out of town by 5ish my time in the morning to head home.  We had snow and ice for about 7 1/2 hours of the trip but still it was fairly relaxing and an enjoyable ride.

with gorgeous views.

I have a Moab trip planned for April and a Canyon trip planned for May and get to see my long lost friend again soon!  Can't wait for some more adventures!!

Looks like an awesome adventure! Barley needs some modeling lessons but other than that it looks like the perfect place. I love your snowy bridge picture!

You are so adventurous. I wish I had a desire to be adventurous. ;) So glad you got to see friends and have a relaxing time. After last year you certainly deserve it! I love the pic of Barley at the end and the views are stunning to say the least!
