Last night we just got back from another incredibly fun weekend. It all started when I decided that I was going to do this Wild Rockies Mountain bike race and signed the kids up for the free trailblazers race. At the last minute Tob decided that he wanted to do the Mountain Run that started before all of our events. He's a little bit competitive and didn't want to sit out. Anyway so here are the photos..... Numero Uno the kids in the bus with Myah who quickly found her spot. Yes we went bus camping this time, which was really fun.
Here is Alexyss at our camping spot along the race course. Mom "Take a picture of me." "Watch this." Take note of the sunshine.
Tob and the kids before his 10.5 mile trail run. Looking at the hair you would guess he was already done but nope that's just a little bed head from a good nights sleep in the V-Dub. There were 50 trail runners and Toby placed 3rd in his age group and 8th overall. He's an awesome runner, imagine what he could do with a little training.
I had thought that I may need to bribe the kids to do the race, but there was no need for that, they were both really excited to do it. Here they are at the starting line.
Nojah pedaling his little heart out. He was lucky to have made a friend Alec who took him on the course the night before. Alec's dad was the one who set up the race course. Due to unforseen circumstances Tob was unable to get any photos of Lex racing.
There I am leisurely coming into the finish line. There was 200 bikers total with the pro, expert, sport, and beginner divisions. I raced in the sport so I did two laps totaling 21 miles. It was the first day of sun we had seen in decades so it was HOT out riding at 2 in the afternoon. But no complaints here except for the excruciating painful sunburn I received.
Nojah came in 3rd overall and Alexyss 4th overall but 1st in the girls division. (she was the only girl :0) I was so proud of them. They did great! They scored those t-shirts in the picture (which I tried to talk them out of wearing with no luck, great scoop necks :0) and 2 waterbottles, Alexyss received a pretty cool biking jersey with a retail value of $50 and of course medals for both. Unfortunately they changed the race time so I didn't get to watch them but Tob kept things under control and managed to take care of the dog, keep track of the kids for the most part, get pictures, and what not. Bigger task then what you may think!
After all the racing was done we had a family grand total of 40 miles of competition for the day, not including all the riding the kids did the day before and a little extra run Tob had to go on during the kids race. After the races we headed to Boise where we went to POJO's (much like chucky cheese but with more games geared toward bigger kids, and adults:0) for pizza and games with Tausha and Derek. We stayed then night and visited with them as the dogs went crazy playing. It was great to visit with them. Thanks again for everything guys!!This last picture is on our way home when they spotted a "HUGE" spider and so I had to get out, try to find it, and what not. Turns out when I saw it, I noticed it was smaller then a dime and because of it's quick agile movements it got away, never to be seen again. The kids were not impressed. Hope everyone was able to get out any enjoy the sunshine this weekend. Hopefully it isn't long before there is more!
