Well I must say we had another successful year participating in the Xterra Solstice Triathlon. We each had challenges but overcame them and ended on a good note. Nojah had some serious gastrointestinal distress and was vomiting up until 10pm the night before his race, and then lost his chain twice during the race and still managed to come in 4th place. Alexyss stepped it up a category from the kids easy duathlon to the medium and did well despite the muddy course. She holds the course record for the little ones so it was hard for her to give that up and race with the bigger kids. I improved my overall time by a whopping 13 minutes to my surprise, since training was decreased to a minimum this year and Tob was able to fill in last minute and bike for our cousin Amy's team. As always we had a great time, and will definitely be ready for it again next year. With only 2 races in I think we are done for the year. After baseball is over we are hoping to spend some time hiking and more importantly do nothing, together around the house. As if that will happen, but it's a goal I continue to strive for. I do have to say we are rarely bored!

There was a good article in our local paper about the triathlon and Dawn's name was even in there. She placed 51st out of the entire event and we were very proud of her improvement. What she didn't say is that she was choking on water the first 1/3 of her swim. Amazing! Nojah and Lex were awesome and Toby did a totally fantastic job, passing at least 25 people! Go Chamberlains!
