"Baseball is where boys practice being men and men practice being boys, and they get real good at it".

and so the season has come to an end. I have to to be honest I miss it already, however on the other hand, it's nice to not have the commitment and just be home for the first time in 3 months. Coaching our little man along side my faboulous husband was a fun and memorable experience. We had a fantastic group of kids this year who grew before our eyes and became great little ball players. Nojah went on to play in the 9-10 year old all-stars tournament in La Grande this past weekend and was lucky enough to have his dad again helping coach. Although they did not advance to the championships the kid played well, really well. He is such a little athlete and I have to say, we are pretty proud parents.

I love this picture because looking at it you would think Tob was just ripping this young man a new one, however it couldn't have been further from the truth. This little guy was one of the younger kids on the team and Tob wanted him to pitch. When he asked him if he wanted to pitch mid game he looked up with his big brown eyes and shook his head no. Tob convinced him to pitch for a few players though, and I am sure he was glad in the end he got the opportunity. I wish I had more pictures of Tob coaching but all you who know him know there couldn't be a better guy for the job. He wasn't sure about making that kind of commitment during the beginning of fire season and then just stepped up to the plate and took on the job. He was devoted, organized, positive, encouraging, and just downright great with the kids! I am a lucky woman to have such an incredible husband and father to my kids!

I loved playing softball as a kid! I'm glad that Nojah and Toby got to play together! How fun. I think my mom bought a wiffle ball and bat for the coast! Nojah can show off his athletic skills. :)

Toby is the best...how is that coming from a mother-in-law? And Nojah was fabulous. I am so proud of you all. Mom

That is a great picture indeed! I havne't been over here in awhile and had all sorts of new things to catch up on! there's something just downright wonderful about pictures of boys playing baseball.
