Well, Long time no blog! I worked last Mon-Wed and then woke up early to get ready and leave for the coast. Emily and I decided that we would make a quick trip to the beach for one last yahoo before school starts. We didn't really have any plans until the night before we left when we found out that her husbands mom's cabin in Manzanita was available. Great times because it looked like all the campsites were booked although I am not too particular about where I camp. The trip was very quick but a lot of fun. We got out of town late so we stayed with Em's mom (aunt mick) Thur night in Salem and headed for the beach on Friday morning. We stayed 2 nights in the cabin and drove home on Sunday morning. The kids had a blast at the beach. We spent one of our days at seaside and went to the aquarium, buried Lex in the sand, and played football on the beach, as well as just hanging out. The weather was great. All around great trip. It was wonderful to spend time with Em! I work this week again MON-WED and then have 6 days off. YEAH!!! Well I may have to fill in for 1 or 2 shifts but still. I was lucky enough to get 1/2 day off today to spend with Tob on our fabulous 8 year anniversary, who by the way got home yesterday.

I STILl have never been to the Oregon coast! How sad is that? Well someday. Glad you got to getaway before school starts. Looks like you all had fun. Too bad Toby was missing! :( Maybe next time right?

Well, I hope we get to see you next time. Tim works on Saturdays so we need a wee bit more time to plan than two days! Astoria is quite a jaunt for us too. It looks like you had a great time. I am glad the weather cooperated. Those kids are just so darned cute! What did Lex think about being buried in the sand? I think I'm a bit too claustrophobic for that one...

You need to book a yurt, cabin or something at one of the big state parks in Jan or feb for next summer and then just take the kids and go for 4 or 5 days. Hey, we'll get two yurts and go together :0). You have to book them like 9 months in advance to get them. If Tob and Lloyd can go then great, if not we'll have a blast!

I'm sorry I really did want to see you, we were lacking the extra time we needed. Lex loved being buried in the sand. Her and Em were working on that while the boys and I were playing football in the water. When she called us over to look Lex just looked so proud of herself. She told us she did it all by herself.
