My lovely grandma, beautiful mother, sweet nieces, charming daughter and myself were able to go out on the town last weekend for dinner, while the boys were off doing boy things at an Oregon Hunters Association banquet (like bidding $280 on cheesecakes, guns, fishing poles duck prints and such :-) )We ate large plates of food and enjoyed each others company for a couple hours which was nice. I miss my grandma especially and wish I saw her more often.
We thought about going to a show or watching a movie at home but our family of 4 had to get up early and do a little of this the next day.......

After posing in the snow, visiting with friends, eating greasy food as well as, enjoying a little skiing and snowboarding all day we took the back roads home to stop for a surprise visit with Tob's amazing grandparents whom we also don't see often enough.
Lex can alway's talk grandma Nellie into a game of cards, always....and after finishing their game and catching up we said our goodbyes wishing we could stay longer.

But, knew dinner was awaiting us at my mom's house (because I had put it in the crock-pot before we left). I really wish I would have taken the time to go get my camera at dinner that night (although I have a pretty good mental picture) when both my dad and my brother looked down at their homemade split pea soup and then proceeded looked around the table for help.... They ate it though and secretly I think they liked it! After dinner I went to pick up some things at the store before heading home to rural America while my mom snapped a quick shot of my brother, the kids and my grandma.
We managed to get our wiped out kids in bed at 8:30 so they were ready for school the next day. I love our family and couldn't have been happier to spend a weekend with them.

Dawn, you need a red jacket. Everyone else has one.
I loved the weekend, too!
