5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF..........

are the words we heard before each and every rocket launched into the sky today.

Each year the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders spend a week making rockets and then 1/2 a day launching them. Today was the launch day for them. With rockets flying everywhere and kids running everywhere it was a little crazy, although lots of fun for the kids who made them as well as the little kids who got to watch and are now looking forward to the day they too get to make a rocket and launch it high up in the sky.

They would set 3 up and then launch one at a time, so you can imagine it's a lengthy process. Nojah's is the blue one in the middle. His didn't fly very high, but instead made most of the crowd very nervous and of course gave him the giggles after he realized it wasn't going to kill anyone.

Here he is getting cheers from the crowd in his cloud of smoke :-)

and his little sister there to watch the event, to socialize, and take notes on how to build her rocket next year.

Ha! This brings back memories of when I was in grade school. I remember making and launching rockets I just can't remember who's class it was in. How fun!
