I am contemplating going public again. I keep having people who email me saying they can't access my blog and need another invite and then it's a struggle to get it to go through at times. Does anyone else have this issue? It just seems like a huge pain to keep it private and a lot more difficult for those who just want to check it every now and then. I would love all your thoughts on the subject if you have time. I think if I go public again I will just refrain from saying whereabouts we live, using our last name, etc and ask you to do the same when leaving comments. I would imagine it wouldn't be any big deal....Any thoughts or warnings before I make the plunge????

I haven't found it to be a pain. Then again, probably no one is reading my blog! Does your camera have a GPS(?) in it that can pinpoint where the picture was taken? I posted a link on my Facebook about it. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/video?id=7621105&syndicate=syndicate§ion
I have a friend who doesn't disclose where they live, etc. and has fake names for all her kids. I'll admit, it's kind of a pain to try to remember their pseudo names when commenting. And if they don't have 'other' names how does one comment? "I really liked your son's rocket..." ??? And, if you go public, all your old comments will still be there with their names in it. I probably didn't help your cause a bit. :) Why are people having such a hard time accessing your blog?
I've been having the same problem. I realized that it is from them trying to use the original link I sent them. It expires after a few weeks. If they type in the url and just sign in it should always work. Anyway... hopefully that helps some ppl for you. You can put the web address on your facebook page for ppl to click on rather than the original link in your invite email and then they can sign in from there maybe. Its helped some ppl for me.
I had this in my bookmarks. I don't know if it even pertains. I haven't read it lately! (and too lazy to do it now!)

I've never had problems reading your blog so either way works for me. I understand your concerns and my advice is do what you think is best. :)It's hard having a public blog and sharing enough info to keep Grandma & Grandpa happy but not enough for creepers to know where you are and what you're doing. I mostly try to post things about where we've been instead of announcing when and where we are going to be. Sad that we have to be so careful.
Seeing as CC is quite public you can guess that I'd be cool with you going public ;-) I know where some of your readers would come from...
Good deal. I'll keep my mouth shut about your personal stuff. I'm a fan of not being private...I never remember to check the private ones.
it is true I have a harder time keeping up with private blogs.. I'm sure you would have more readers if it were public.
I have never had problems with people accessing mine though.. I don't have an answer for you on that ;)
I honestly think that if you are really good about keeping your location and things private, it is okay to have a public blog. It's just so easy to track someone though, if you wanted to. I mean I could look at your childs soccer team uniform and type in the name of their team and may be able to pull up a location of where this team is located, etc. I'm not saying I could for sure, I'm just giving you ideas of how some people may go about finding you with out you saying a word about location. You know what I mean? Plus, I don't know how 'private' you've kept your posts since your blog has been private. you will probably have to go through each blog and delete things that maybe you don't want public. Anyway, what ever you decide I'm sure will be fine. I'm not opposed to either!
